Some arcade projects with pictures...
Arcade monitors!!
Some monitors I have come across! Some day I will put schematics here too. Sold:telcovision medium-res 25 inch monitor. Here's the back of it. Wired remote included. I have not tested this as I have no medium-res PCBs! This monitor is also known as a Kortek 2602 monitor. Schematics are here.
Wells Gardner monitor catalog. This should help anyone who is trying to identify parts for monitor chassis, etc.
Project Tube Swap. This is my first attempt at swapping the 25-inch picture tube on an arcade game with a tube from a TV.
Asteroids Deluxe Restoration Project
This project is my newest. I picked it up from a seller on eBay (residing in CT!) on 5/30/01. It is not in bad shape at all. Began the cleaning phase to get the dust bunnies out and determine visually what is going on here. Found one fried resistor on the audio reg board. Also, noticed a transistor is 'missing'...
Baby Pacman!
I could not sit and let a perfectly good Baby Pacman cabinet be destroyed! So, after 12+ hours per trip (two trips), I now have two Baby Pacman machines! The original intent was to pick up the additional cabinet to gut and transplant to my original cabinet-- to make one good game. Look at these pictures to understand what I got with this original cabinet: front, back, and at least the side art was not bad! As it turned out, I now have duplicate parts and enough to make most of two good games! Here's some pics of a work in progress: Baby Pac #1 and
Baby Pac #2.
Don't Forget the Pepsi Machine!

Q*Bert Restoration project
This project is nearly complete. I have applied the new control panel overlay and had some yellow custom paint mixed to match the overlay. I just need to spend the time sanding it smooth and painting... Then the side art will be applied...I will be making some new pics of this game. Until then, here are some pics of the front, screen, and boards to make it run.
Arkanoid Project
This used to live in a Scramble cabinet. The cabinet was completely rotted. When I moved the games to another side of the basement, it fell apart! :( I ended up picking up a new cabinet from a local operator. Now I will begin getting the guts put into the new cabinet. I need to do some monitor chassis repairs and make a universal harness adapter to allow me to plug in a Ms. Pacman and Mr. Do's Castle PCB. Pics will be posted as I dig into this one further.
Sega Turbo (mini cabinet) restoration
This project is going along well. It uses a Nanao monitor (13" size) which is not the most common for parts / manuals. I have found a MC2000 monitor manual which matches the chassis used in this game. Now the fun part, isolating the problem on the monitor board. This monitor has no vertical deflection. This seems to be common with these monitors. Since I have owned this game, I have collected monitor chassis boards and spare parts for the game. I now have four monitor chassis boards, each showing different problems... The original one I got with the game would blow the F902 fuse. We found that replacing the flyback and the HOT got it working! The flyback showed a short by using a meter on the base of the board (in circuit). The HOT was just bad all over, perhaps they both went bad at the same time! Now I need to do a cap kit! More pics to follow soon..
Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles (JAMMA cabinet)
This one is the ideal 4-player JAMMA+ cabinet! It has a 25" monitor, mounted horizontally. Currently Disney's Magical Tetris is installed in the game! I have several TNMT PCBs. Someday I will get them straightened out. One has a sound problem. The other has a RAM problem. This should prove to be a simple chip swap. Just shows I need a finer-tip on my solder iron!
